First preliminary seedings are up!

The first preliminary seedings are up! To view them click here.

Some clans are not in any division/group yet but will of course be ASAP! (This is due to lack of time and info).

If you have any complaints/suggestions please do not hesitate to contact us either via IRC (#BiBS @ QuakeNet & GameSurge) or by email (contacts page)

Season 3 Signups are now Closed
By bjqrn0 on Friday 12th March 2010
Signups for season 3 are now officially closed, we would like to thank all the 85 clans that have shown their (continued) support and signed up!

Even though the signups are closed officially it might still be able to get your clan into season 3 - to do so please ask any admin in #BiBS @ QuakeNet or GameSurge if it's still possible to have your clan in the season.

We are now starting the seedings of the teams, as this is a quite extensive task we would like to ask the clans (especially new ones) to drop us a comment on IRC on where they think they belong - this is of course no requirement but having your clan seeded correctly will make the league more fun for you and your competitors!

We will keep an updated list of the seeds at all times on the site as soon as we have done the first preliminary seeding. Seeds will be final on March 26 (after that no adjustments will be made). If you feel your team has been seeded incorrectly or if you know that some other team has, please contact us either via IRC or by e-mail (Contact page).

Season 3 rules will be released ASAP!

LLL wins EU season two final by default against YYT!
By exixT on Friday 19th February 2010
There have been many thoughts and opinions regarding the season two's finals between LLL (LowLandLions) and YYT (YoYoTech). We have finally reached a verdict, even though it might not have been the best outcome possible.

The second season's winner is LLL! Congratulations!

LLL won against YYT by default win which was accepted by YYT.
LowLandLions wins their second season in a row and remains undefeated in the league so far!

The second season's Player of the Season award is more of a Manager of the Season award.
The award goes to Mephistio from team Grrr! Why? Mephistio has been the most active player to look over the playings and that her team has been playing their matches instead of giving default losses.

The sign-up for season three is still going on! Be sure to sign up your team and have the chance to win this season of BiBS.

Good luck to all season three's teams!

The North American BiBS League Start Dates
By Kitten on Wednesday 21st October 2009
Hi again ..i'm contacting the teams signed up for the BiBs. I am sending this to those shown as leader but that might be just the person who signed the team up. If this isn't the leader then there needs to be a correction.

If your team is on this page..you are IN the Competition--
http://www.bibsql.com/?p=signups

******* The sign up so far was just to join the BiBs..now you need to sign up for this season's competition******
It's the BIG EASY BUTTON at the top-right of this page********

If you have registered it takes a click..if it's a new registration then fill in the info..
Piece O'Cake...

The competition still has the "target" date of Wednesday, October 21st . This date will be when we consider the teams as SET and will arrange them into seeds (I am getting at least 4 people from different areas and clans to each arrange how they would seed the teams) so please be sure all your members have registered and signed up on your team.

I will be removing any teams on the league's competition list that don't have at least 4 members..(unless there's a situation I can be assured they WILL have more in a day or 2).. Therefore the target date IS Wed-21st and you should be able to view the divisions by Thur..latest Friday..and competition can begin this weekend..Sat 23rd.

Since this is a League and each team plays each team in it's division..you can play one match a week..2..or all the teams in a week if you can manage that..lol

Fear will be helping the teams with scheduling and this is connected to his lining up the ql.tv showings..so cooperate with him please as he is doing a valuable job for the league. We will be in the Gamesurge #BiBS channel to help and answer any and all questions or conderns..look for myself, Fear, Br1ck or Ceenyne (or any other op will probably know good answers)

Read the rules (will be added to so check again later for additions) and look at the different pages on the website. The Euro league is ongoing and it should give you an idea what the North American (NA) league should have..teams..matches played..scores..rankings..etc.

There may be some new pages..there Will be up to date news on the front page and this competition will not stall or die.

If you have a very BIG roster please consider dividing it into 2..more teams..more FUN!..and if you know clans/teams that haven't signed up..go get them IN for the Weekly FUN!! Rosters can be changed up until the 3rd week.

Bloodlust is gone (sounds like a story line) and the vote for divisions by skill was overwhelming.

We will have at least 2 divisions..probably 3..so the issue is..do we divide up randomly or by skill..doing a poll for feedback from those that will be playing.

Should we put the Bloodlust map in..right now there's 5 maps..6 would be nice and some people like the map. I think people should have the choice (i've played it forever from the distant past..lol..so I like it) so voice your choice..again there's a poll going on.

Any questions or suggestions come see me (Kitten) or Br1ck..

Sneak peek to Season II
By Grimskov on Monday 10th August 2009
It's been more than two weeks since the end of Season I, and although all of us are enjoying the QuakeCon fever, do take a break and have a look at what we will be working on for next Season, some of the most important features we are going to add, as well as a couple of changes that will take place:

BiBS is crossing the ocean:

It's been discussed, it's been assumed and as all of you can see on the Contact Page, it has now been done. Bring it Back Safely has been split to 2 different sections, European and North American, now both under the very same roof. The North American Admin team is already taking form, so far finding cpy_, icel0re, gibz and stevo as the guys who will be in charge.

Although the 2 sections will be working closely together, the NA community may as well chuck their whine-plans in the pooper, since rules and format regarding each section, will be decided entirely by the Admin-Team responsible and not by people from another continent.

BiBS Website and Season II Sign-ups:

There's 2 great values, to which BiBS will always remain true: Simplicity and Efficiency. Given that we are the ultimate champions of simplicity, it is efficiency that we're going to be promoting for Season II.

That will include the addition of comments, and other such features that will make communication a lot easier, as well as a result-submitting system.

Starting now, the sign-ups for Season II are officially open. All you have to do is register your team, get your players to join it and let any one of us know you'll be competing. Let us remind you that having 6-7 players in your roster, as well as a valid email and IRC channel (either on GameSurge or Quakenet) are requirements.

League Details and Format: Switching to 4v4!

Unfortunately, there's only a few we can share with you for now. However, you can keep in mind that Season II will be starting around early September (EU and NA), and that we will be seeding the teams in skill-based Divisions.

Furthermore, most of you have noticed that for the past couple of weeks we've been considering the possibility of switching the European League format to 4vs4 instead of 5v5. After quite a few hours of discussion, a lot of live feedback and a survey via email, we have reached a decision: Both the NA and the EU Leagues will be in a 4v4 format.

We will also keep providing everyone with a chance to blow our minds through live coverage of matches, since we will continue working with QuakeLive.TV.

Make sure you visit #BiBS @ GameSurge or Quakenet for any questions or feedback.

Enjoy QuakeCon and the rest of the summer everyone.

The End...?
By Grimskov on Thursday 30th July 2009
On the 16th of May, when we first announced the beginning of Bring it Back Safely - Season 1, under no circumstances did we see ourselves ending up with something like this. 3 months, 131 maps, 773 captures and 43109 frags later, LowLandLions stepped up and placed their sexy butts on the throne of BiBS; undefeated, though not unchallenged...

Versatile Gaming, formerly known as PLASA put up an amazing fight against LLL* providing great entertainment and an amazing Grand Final, which has sealed the first Season of BiBS. LiveFrenzy, even though they were denied qualification for a single point, managed to make us proud for choosing them to fill in the spot that opened up by Angels of Apocalypse in the Playoffs, finishing third and carrying the bronze medal in pride.

As most of you should know, we will be giving out a special award: Player of the Season (PoTS). So let's take a look at the players who made a difference:

To all the teams out there who are looking to boosting up their offense, ani is the man for the job. While competing for LiveFrenzy, he managed to bring it back safely 33 times, ending up as the top scorer. In addition to that, he seems to be combining Flag-running with fragging, since he also holds the 3rd place for most excellents with the impressive total of 56 as well as 2nd in most Pummel-Kills (yap, I still think of LLL*Impulse when I say "pummel"...) with 16 humiliations. LLL*Derfel is right behind him with 26 captures, although they both had a 2 caps/map average. Miyago honoured Sheepheads with 23 captures over 10 maps played, ending up 3rd in the most-wanted attackers list, albeit with the highest average.

From the opposite side of the field, dobo/Nukester appears to be a clear example of a rock-solid defender, with a total of 176 defends (average of 14.7 defs/map). Besides earning the "Weirdest-OMFG-nickname Award", ns5lokixxxxxxxx also climbs up to the 2nd place, gathering 156 defends and keeping Happy Tree Friends a bit happier, followed by DX!'s shogun_ who comes 3rd with 135. Although he did not make it in the Top 3 who gathered the most defends, LLL*dem0n cannot be left out, since him and the first Season Champions, LowLandLions, only let out one flag. We beg your pardon for this statistical mishap - blame LLL* for not letting anyone get near their flag...

Despite all the great achievements found above, we are proud to announce that PotS award goes to...

dobo/ styl0r

This man, my friends, is a monster, a killer and the very definition of a frag-machine. styl0r managed to gather 64 Excellents, followed by his chief and teammate, shire with 60. Who wants more?

Take a look at the Top 3 players who scored the most Impressives:

On the 3rd place we find eJo, representing Happy Tree Friends and making enemy offenders a bit more miserable by hitting 230 Impressives. Right after him is cry Deji with 256. And then of course, you find styl0r coming up with the mindblowing amount of 354 Impressives!

Last but not least, due to the Grand Final's incident, we would be fools to ignore the devastating Gauntlet and humiliations. Well, styl0r leads that board too, with his blade's victims climbing up to 17 throughout the Season.

It was a fine Season. Not because we're super cool. Not because we have unlimited time. The reason is that all of you were close to us, and we were close to you. We received a lot of feedback, and each time it was you guys who guided us to what the right decision was, from Mappool changes and rules exploits, to the organization of the Playoff-Stage. And for that we thank you.

We'd also like to say a huge thanks to:

Quake-Live.TV: For providing private servers and coverage of the Playoffs, and being such a great team to work with.
Joe "Fenda" Fender: An amazing gamer, teammate and friend who ufortunately left us for Japan. He is the man responsible for our website design, the League's name, loads of input used to start this off and ofcourse our kick-ass banner.
Lashknife: For doing some truly stunning work without any obligation to do it, and thus gathering and providing all the data and statistics mentioned above.
holysh1t.net Staff: For promoting our League every way we asked them to.
ceNsored Team: We admire your focus, and it is because of teams like you that QuakeLive will evolve to the great game we're all anticipating to experience.

Rest and enjoy the Summer break.

You'll be hearing from us soon.

Season I Playoffs!
By Grimskov on Wednesday 15th July 2009
With the 7th, and final, week of the Group-Stage coming to an end, we figured we could give you guys a heads-up on what will follow. It has been a long run, and although far from perfect, we are convinced that it was overall a fun Season, with more than a couple of interesting turn-arounds, and plenty of close matches.

Schedule Overview:

The Playoff-Stage will begin on Saturday the 18th of July. Up to then, we're going to keep it as a Gap-week, so some of you could attempt to catch up with any remaining matches, while we make all the arrangements for the big show.

From that day and on, all the qualified teams will get a chance to contact their designated opponent, and thus arrange a suitable date where both teams can guarantee their best line-up, as well as minimize the chances of a no-show.

All the matches from which the Brackets consist of, will have to be played and submitted, up until Thursday the 23rd of July.

For the Semi-finals and Final there's going to be fixed dates and hours, since as you all know, these matches will be receiving QuakeLive-TV's blessings through live coverage.

On Saturday (25/07/09) SemiFinal#1 will be played at 20:00 CET and SemiFinal#2 at 22:00 CET
On Sunday (26/07/09) the LB-Final will be played at 20:00 CET and the Grand Final at 22:00 CET

Details regarding the rules that are going to be used, as well as the Brackets Table, will be available within this week. We will mostly be sticking to rules that were used for the Group-Stage. Feedback/complaints about any of the rules is always welcome - and now is the time to tell us.

Congratulations to:
LowLandLions, Dimension X, vG, Angels of Apocalypse, QuakeLive UK, Sheepheads, The Dog's Bollocks, Mixed:

Looking forward to seeing you all in action! =)

Most importantly though, we'd like to thank every team and player for making this happen.

BiBS & QLTV bring you Season I Playoffs!
By Grimskov on Monday 29th June 2009
Yes, it's true. Many have asked for it, many more desired it, and despite our lust for power and world domination, you people gave us no choice.

The BiBS Season I - Playoff Stage will include the top 8 teams of the League - that is, teams that finish 1st and 2nd from each Group will qualify. But that's not all...

Bring it Back Safely and QuakeLiveTV will work together on this, for the first time. QLTV will be honoring us by covering the Semi-Finals and Final matches of the Playoffs.

These matches will be arranged so that both the European and the American communities can have a fair chance of spectating. So train hard, catch up with your League Matches, and show the Quake community around the world what you got.

More on rules, dates, and other relevant information will be available soon.

Courtyard Conundrum replaces Inner Sanctum (team3)
By Bjqrn0 on Monday 29th June 2009
As our intentions have always been to remove all rune-maps from the map pool, we have now made a decision to replace Inner Sanctums (team3) with Courtyard Conundrum (ctf10).

For several weeks now we have discussed thoroughly which map to replace team3 with, and from a competitive standpoint we think ctf10 will bring the most fun and action.

The new map pool (ctf2, ctf3, ctf7, ctf8 & ctf10) is considered effective immediately! (Week#6)

And remember, if you don't like it - you can always veto it :) so no complaints! j/k

SP is replacing THC in season 1
By Bjqrn0 on Sunday 14th June 2009
Unfortunately clan THC has chosen to leave BiBS season 1 - but no need to worry, SP is taking their place right away!

SP will play in group D.

We will be replacing other teams for the current season due to inactivity and the fact that they have been very hard to reach. So, if you got a ctf team you are welcome to contact one of the admins and we'll sign you up to the substitute list.

Goodbye Scornforge, welcome Siberia!
By Grimskov on Monday 1st June 2009
The people have spoken, through a poll getting over 300 votes, but also through direct feedback, and here in the BiBS Team we are happy to be announcing that Scornforge (team4) is now out of the League's map pool, and is replaced with the latest CTF map, Siberia (ctf8).

The old map pool will still be used for any remaining Week#1 Matches that have not yet been played.

Week#2 map pool as follows:
Inner Sanctums (team3), The Stronghold (ctf3), Troubled Waters (ctf2), Ironworks (ctf7) and Siberia (ctf8)

Also, don't forget to keep up to date on our rules.

Note: The top teams at the end of the season will be playing in the highest divisions for the next one.

We are working on a match reporting feature atm, in the meantime report your matches via IRC. Thank you.
